the sun is out, the weather is warming up, and i wore flipflops for the first time yesterday. and it made me miss posting on this website. so hopefully, if school allows, i can put forth effort to posting on here regularly again. rainbows are still my favorite, jcrew still rocks when it comes to rubber flipflops, and i wish hollister would make flops like they used to.

tegan and sara – cue cards, clap over head!!!

this weekend was pretty much incredible. it’s kinda hard to sit here and watch youtube videos from the tegan & sara concert at bogart’s in cincinnati (5/9/08), and believe that it actually happened. it’s hard to sum up the show with any limited amount of descriptors so bullet points have been chosen to assist in the weekend recap.

lines started forming at 8am
mimosas for breakfast
i spot sara walking towards us – she hangs out with the fans in front of the venue!!!
mindy made cue cards for tegan (and tells sara about the plan)
FRONT ROW!!! in front of SARA!!!
“clap over head” sign
tegan tries to text a fan’s dad with their cell phone
sara takes the cue cards from mindy and holds them up for tegan during “i know…”
the security guard was totally diggin’ the show. sara thanked him for his enthusiasm at the end!

simply amazing! the show couldn’t have been any better. i wish this was the show tegan and sara recorded for the new dvd!

garrison starr played at some random bbq bar/restaurant in louisville, ky last night. the sound system was jacked up, but they some how made it work when she got up on stage. she is incredible. and that’s all that needs to be said here. i wish i had footage from the performance last night, but i don’t. but this is one of my favorite songs!!!

she will be playing in 3 cities in ky in june, but we are planning to be at bonnaroo that weekend. i’m glad we got to make it to last night’s show. i wish she’d come back later this summer and play at a better venue with more appropriate acoustics!
